Grayson County’s Emma Walker was honored Tuesday afternoon with a Senior Salute prior to the Cougars’ matchup with Bowling Green at the Cougar Courts.

Walker, the team’s lone senior, has been a part of the program since her middle school days and has served as a key doubles contributor for the Lady Cougars over the past four seasons.

As a sophomore, Walker teamed with Sami Woosley in 2024 to reach the Third Region doubles semifinals and qualify for the state tournament. She followed that up in 2025 by partnering with Grace Franich, once again advancing to the regional semifinals and earning a return trip to state.

Following the senior day recognition, both Cougar tennis teams delivered strong performances on the court.

The Lady Cougars swept Bowling Green 7-0 to improve to 12-2 on the season. The doubles team of Neely Hornbeck and Piper Mangan secured the sweep with a 7-5 tiebreaker victory.

On the boys’ side, Grayson County avenged an earlier loss to Bowling Green with a 6-3 win. Miles Mudd highlighted the night by rallying from a 0-3 deficit to defeat the Purples’ top singles player 9-7. The Cougars also improved to 12-2 on the year.

Grayson County will return to action Thursday on the road at Ohio County.
