A woman has been arrested after driving approximately six miles with a McDonald’s manager clinging to her hood.
The incident happened on Thursday at the McDonald’s on Versailles Road in Frankfort when 38-year-old Autumn E. West hit the female manager’s vehicle with her car, according to Herald-Leader (paywall).
The manager then stood in front of West’s vehicle as she attempted to prevent West from leaving the scene. West, though, struck the manager with her car, causing the manager to fall onto the hood.
West then fled with the manager holding on to the hood.
West traveled about six miles to her home at a high rate of speed. Once arriving at her residence, West pulled the manager off the car by her hair and then attacked the victim. The manager, during the altercation, grabbed West’s keys and ran away, with West chasing the victim with a tire iron, the Herald-Leader reports.
Upon police arriving at the scene, West was sitting in her car as the victim was sitting in the roadway.
West was given a field sobriety test and arrested.
She was charged with first-degree attempted assault, two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, DUI (aggravating circumstances), first-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree assault, menacing, and leaving the scene of an accident along with non-moving violations.
West was lodged in the Franklin County Detention Center.
