Multiple people were injured and a man was killed when a barn under construction collapsed in Shelby County.
Shelby County Emergency Management told WHAS.com that the accident happened on Monday afternoon at approximately 1:50 on Dover Road near the Shelby/Oldham County line.
The barn, designed to house horses, collapsed when a gust of wind knocked down trusses that were being installed. Seven men came down with the truss.
One man suffered critical injuries.
Killed in the accident was 35-year-old Noel M. Mazariegos. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Mazariegos was working from an aerial lift while workers were putting a roofing system in place when the falling trusses pushed the victim off the cherry picker.
The investigation is being led by OSHA, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and Shelby Co. Emergency Management.
