
Twin sisters have died in a house fire in Boyd County.
The fire occurred Sunday morning at approximately 6:55 at 2413 Garfield Avenue in Ashland, according to the Boyd County Coroner’s Office.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they located two female victims inside the structure. The victims were removed from the home and transported to UK King’s Daughters Medical Center “where they were pronounced deceased after resuscitative efforts were unsuccessful,” the coroner’s office said.
The victims were identified as twin sisters, Linda Sparks and Cindy Sparks, both 69.
The fire remains under investigation by the Ashland Fire Department and the Ashland Police Department. The deaths remain under investigation by the Boyd County Coroner’s Office.
