Leland A. Miller, age 89, of Leitchfield, passed away Monday, (May 11, 2026) at Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. He was born on May 15, 1936, in Snap, KY, the son of the late David John Miller and Pearl Logsdon Miller.

He had a long career as a welder at Jeffboat and later retired from Bel Cheese. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who took great pride in being a Republican, a member of the National Rifle Association, and the Teamsters Local 89. He enjoyed collecting stamps and feathers. He was also a proud member of the Grayson County Fish and Wildlife Club and loved spending time outdoors. Even just a few weeks before his passing, he could still be found sitting on the front porch watching for groundhogs and deer.

He is survived by his brother, J.D Miller of Leitchfield; nephews, Harold Miller (Becky), Richard Miller, Joe Boone, Dan Boone, Michael Williams and Bobby Daugherty; nieces, Karen Decker Lee, Norma Colvin (Tommy), Barbara Sands (Sonny), Debbie Bowles (David) and Dianne Floyd (Barry); and a special caretaker, Alberta Brooks. Several great nieces and nephews also survive.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wendell and Morris Miller; and four sisters, Eudora Decker, Helen Daugherty, Mildred Boone and Thelma Williams.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, (May 16, 2026) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Murrell Meredith will be officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
