A young couple had charges either dropped or amended in the death of an infant at a Meade County hotel.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a two-month-old baby deceased.
The couple occupying the room, 25-year-old Chance A. Baldwin, of Hudson, Colorado, and 23-year-old Felicianna A. Montez, of Pueblo, Colorado, told police they started drinking Monday night, September 14 at around 8:00. The couple then woke up at approximately 4:00 a.m. the next day and found the infant unresponsive in their bed.
An 18-month-old child was also in the hotel room.
Baldwin and Montez were arrested by Muldraugh police and charged with second-degree manslaughter, first-degree wanton endangerment and first-degree criminal abuse of a child (victim under the age of 12).
The charges against Montez were dropped, WDRB.com reports, and Baldwin pled guilty earlier this week to two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment as he agreed to a one-year prison sentence.
