GC Chamber of Commerce Dinner: K105 given Small Business Award, Community Service Award goes to GC Food Alliance

The Grayson County Chamber of Commerce Annual Membership Meeting and Dinner took place Thursday night in a packed house at Rough River Dam State Resort Park Lodge.

After remarks by Chamber Director and the dinner’s chief organizer, April Spalding, and Chamber President Wayne Meriwether, seven individuals or companies were recognized for outstanding achievements in their respective fields:

  • Community activist Joyce Mudd presented Angie Jones with the Chamber’s Ambassador Award.
  • The Community Service Award was presented by State Sen. Steve Meredith to the Grayson County Food Alliance, and accepted by Alliance Director Debbie Childress.
  • Caneyville City Commissioner Scott Majors awarded Caneyville businessman Brad Mudd with the Chamber’s Sparkplug Award.
  • Recently retired Grayson County Technology Center Director/DECA Advisor Cynthia Smith was bestowed the Education Award by Marketing Educator Brittany Gary.
  • The Small Business Award was presented to K105 Founder Mark Buckles by K105 and Saving Hope Charities’ Misty Thomas.
  • The Twin Lakes Award was presented by Hilliard Lyons Financial Consultant Bob Crawford to Plastikon.
  • Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center CEO Wayne Meriwether presented Whoop-de-do Design owner Jennifer Newton with the Past President Award.
