A man with a rap sheet 21 pages long has been arrested in Grayson County on felony drug charges and his fourth DUI.

Monday morning at approximately 1:55, Grayson County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Zane Greer was on routine patrol on the Western Kentucky Parkway when he observed a black 2011 Chevrolet Cruz traveling at 88 miles per hour near the 100 mile marker of the westbound parkway.

Upon making contact with the driver, 35-year-old Jonathan M. Perdue, of Trenton (in Todd County), Greer detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, with Perdue displaying dilated pupils while also sweating, according to the arrest citation. Greer also saw a “container in plain view that was partially open with a baggie sticking out from it,” the citation says.

Upon further investigation, Greer determined Perdue was driving on a DUI suspended driver’s license.

Perdue, when asked if there was marijuana in the car, handed Greer a bag of synthetic marijuana (aka spice).

Greer then asked the two passengers in the vehicle, 39-year-old Ashley R. Pratt, of Lexington, and 42-year-old Jonathan R. McCoy, of Cadiz, to exit the car so Greer and Deputy Sean Fentress could conduct a search of the Chevy.

During that search, police located a set of scales and multiple baggies containing over 10 grams of methamphetamine in total, including a large “crystal” of methamphetamine, according to the citation. They also found a baggie of marijuana.

Perdue, whose rap sheet is 21 pages long and includes a variety of drug and other offenses, was given a field sobriety test, which he failed. He was arrested and transported to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center for a blood draw, something he refused, telling Greer, “I’m refusing because I’m DUI and this is my fourth (offense) and I’m going back to prison (so) why waste the time,” according to the citation.

Perdue was charged with his fourth DUI (aggravating circumstances), two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine, synthetic drugs), two counts of felony wanton endangerment, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), speeding (18 mph over the limit), possession of marijuana, driving on a DUI suspended license, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Pratt and McCoy were also arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of synthetic drugs and possession of marijuana. Pratt was additionally charged with public intoxication (excludes alcohol), while McCoy was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

The three suspects were lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center. Both Pratt and McCoy are no longer listed as inmates at the facility.
