Human remains found in Hart County identified. Cause of death unknown.

The human remains found in Hart County on Saturday have been identified.

Kentucky State Police said the remains have been identified as 33-year-old Charles R. Calhoun, of Greensburg. He was reported missing on December 23, 2020, and was last seen alive near where his body was found, in a wooded area, off Locust Grove Road just east of Bonnieville.

Calhoun’s decomposed body was discovered Saturday night at approximately 6:30. The remains were transported to the state Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.

Police said Calhoun’s cause of death is not yet known.

The death investigation is being led by Kentucky State Police.
