Grayson Co. COVID cases up slightly over previous 7 days

Grayson County’s COVID-19 numbers were up slightly over the previous seven days.

On Wednesday, the Grayson County Health Department reported 12 new cases of the virus were diagnosed since the last update on June 23. The new cases are an uptick from the four new cases of the virus reported between June 16 and June 23.

Currently, the county boasts a 3.2 incident rate, meaning only 3.2 new cases per 100,000 residents have been confirmed over the last seven days.

The number of active cases was not released by the GCHD.

In total, Grayson County has had 2,311 cases of the virus diagnosed, with 2,244 people recovered from the illness.

The health department reported no new deaths, leaving the county’s death toll at 58.

Statewide, 12 counties reported no new cases of the virus over the last seven days, with several counties reporting zero new cases for two straight weeks. Those counties include:

Carlisle, Hickman (two straight weeks with no cases), Hancock (two straight weeks with no cases), Butler, Edmonson, Metcalfe, Mercer, Bourbon, Robertson, Menifee (two straight weeks with no cases), Owsley (two straight weeks with no cases), and Magoffin (two straight weeks with no cases).
