A vehicle’s passenger has been arrested on a drug trafficking charge after the Leitchfield Police Department and Grayson County Sheriff’s Office located a large amount of methamphetamine and over $600 in cash.

Saturday night at approximately 8:35, Leitchfield Police Officer Ty Whitaker conducted a traffic stop on Elizabethtown Road (Hwy 62). In the passenger seat Whitaker identified 33-year-old Justin C. Goodman, of Cecilia.

Soon after the stop, Grayson County Deputies Justin Cockerel and Wally Ritter arrived.

Goodman was asked to exit the vehicle, at which time Cockerel “observed what was determined to be a pill bottle containing methamphetamine,” according to the arrest citation.

The investigation showed that Goodman was in possession of more than 10 grams of methamphetamine and “in excess of $630” in cash.

Goodman was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center. He is no longer listed as an inmate.

Goodman was placed in pre-trial diversion following his arrest in Edmonson County in April 2021 for possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections. He is on probation until May 2027.
