20-year-old charged with murder in crash that killed Elizabethtown man

A 20-year-old man has been charged with murder in a crash that killed an Elizabethtown man.

Marvin A. Mayen, of Bardstown, was indicted by a Hardin County Grand Jury for murder, DUI (non-alcohol) and no licensed driver with person holding instructional permit, according to The News-Enterprise.

The crash occurred on May 9, 2023, at the five-mile-marker of the Joe Prather Highway (Hwy 313) when Mayen, who was driving a 2006 Ford F-150 north, crossed the center line and into the path of a southbound 2013 KIA Optima, being driven by 28-year-old Christopher Doss, of Elizabethtown.

Doss was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner’s Office.

Mayen was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $250,000 cash bond.
