A Millwood man has been arrested on a DUI charge after an early morning traffic stop on White Street.

Tuesday morning at approximately 3:15, Leitchfield Police Officer DJ Newton was patrolling on South Main Street when he observed a Pontiac Grand Am with its license plate not illuminated and expired tags.

Newton followed the vehicle, being driven by 29-year-old William J. Winchell, as it turned right onto White Street, with the officer conducting a traffic stop in the 700 block of White Street.

Upon making contact with Winchell and two passengers, Newton found that Winchell displayed several signs of impairment, according to police. He was given a field sobriety test and arrested.

Winchell was charged with DUI (non-alcohol), driving on an expired license, rear license plate not illuminated, no registration plate, and license in possession.

He was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
