The Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force has arrested two Leitchfield residents, one with a recent history of drug arrests, on drug trafficking and other charges.

After an investigation, on Monday morning just after 10:00, the task force along with the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and Leitchfield Police Department executed a search warrant at 75 Eveleigh Road.

According to the arrest citations, law enforcement located “a large amount of methamphetamine” and drug paraphernalia in the residence. A child was also at the home.

The task force arrested 21-year-old James A. Lucas and 22-year-old Cassie A. Farris and charged each with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), felony wanton endangerment (due to the presence of a child in the home), and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lucas was also served with a failure to appear warrant.

Both suspects were lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

In October 2019, Lucas was arrested on drug charges after two-vehicle accident on Lilac Road when Lucas struck the rear of the vehicle.

Lucas, who was impaired at the time of the accident, was in possession of an unknown controlled substance, and illegally in possession of prescription drugs.

Additionally, in August 2018, Lucas was indicted in Grayson County for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to surrender a revoked operator’s license.
