The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office and Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force collaborated to arrest a fugitive from Cromwell who absconded from parole.

Ohio County Sheriff Tracy Beatty said that on Tuesday afternoon, police arrived at a residence where 55-year-old Robert Scott King was thought to be and observed the suspect “outside in the yard.” King was detained and searched, with police locating “approximately four grams” of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

King was wanted after absconding from parole, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections. He was convicted in September 2019 for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) in Ohio County.

King, who was sentenced to three years in prison, was granted shock probation soon after his conviction. He is on probation until November 2024.

He was newly charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center.
